As a child I shot rubber bands at just about anything using just my finger. Although very accurate, the top of my finger was raw by the end of target practice. Other, more enterprising, children used sticks, rulers and pencils. Some having notches for multiple rubber bands or even a clothespin!!! In the years since (and there have been many), I have enjoyed using my SureFire Shooter. It really saves the top of my finger!!!
